Rex Cafe's
roots go back over 33 years when co-owner Bob
Di Franco started as a waiter and then bought
the Casablanca restaurant. The romantic forties
era ceiling fans are still slowly turning reminding
us of those days.
In 1994 Daniel Mougeot
partnered with Bob as co-owner Chef and the Rex
Cafe was created and soon became a neighborhood
favorite.
Recently the Rex Cafe was
given a fresh new look while also adding new flair
to its menu with the addition of Chef de cuisine
John Pauley.
Working together, Daniel,
classically trained in France, and, John, working
with some of the best chefs in the country, combine
to create dishes from a classic French onion soup
or pate, to buttermilk chicken and waffles of
a grilled salmon with a savory bread pudding.
Rex's Saturday and Sunday
brunches remain a perennial neighborhood favorite
serving one of the best Bloody Mary in town.
